2024 started with a bang. And by that, I mean a literal eruption of activity. It just goes to show that you can never really know what to expect when it comes to having kids.

2023 is coming to an end and I feel like there is so much I haven't done but still want to. The good news is that life is pretty simple and straightforward for the time being, so I should be able to summarize recent events.

We are slowly but surely getting to the end of summer, and you know what that means: Pumpkin pecan waffle candles at Bath & Body Works; Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks; sweatpants and hoodies around the house.

Life seems like it’s going a million miles an hour these days. I don’t even know where to start this update, so let’s go right to the biggest news I’ll get all year: We’re expecting Baby #2!

I haven't shared as many updates as I hoped this year, so let's treat this as the year in review for 2022. We'll cover life stuff, writing updates, and a little bit of what's to come in 2023.

As a whole, 2022 has felt like a year of big transitions. And as I think about how to move forward, it’s obvious that I need to start by setting some new goals for myself.

Graham is creeping up towards the 18-month mark, which (for all you non-parents) means he’s at the “fun stage.” And the best part of that is seeing him develop interests and ideas and preferences all on his own.

My first year as a parent was...easy? Surprisingly easy, to be honest. Graham is a quiet, curious baby who loves sleeping 12 hours each night and trying any sort of food. But even as an "easy" baby, our lives still revolve around him every day.

I wanted to write a recap of how this year has been. More specifically, I wanted to talk about how amazing fatherhood is, how cool Graham is, how inspiring Kim is, etc. But we'll also have to cover some of the less-than-great things that we dealt with as a family. Buckle up.

It's hard to ignore the fact that 2021 was one of the best years of my life, even if it was another strange 12 months to look back on for my year in review.

It's been a few months, but E3 feels like a good excuse to get back to blogging and hopefully incorporate it into my regular life once again.

2020 is in the books, and it’s time to start looking ahead. Things are going to change in pretty big ways in the next few weeks...
